Job Description

The Role:
Trading and pricing of oils/fats/low CI feedstocks for ADM Global Trade.

ADM trades several oils around the world, some of them being rape oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, palm oil, peanut oil and corn oil. Each oil has its own trading peculiarities and it’s important to develop a deep understanding of all vegetable oils and fats globally.

This position will manage ALL the trading functions of oils/fats/low CI feedstocks for ADM. This will include as well vessel inbound logistics management, customer relationship management, customer sales interaction and supply/demand analysis.

Main Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Global Trade Oils, in Rolle, Switzerland. The incumbent position will be responsible for:
  • Trading of all oils/fats/low CI feedstocks in bulk for ADM globally.
  • Fully Responsible for the P&L of these products.
  • Maintain and improve our customer relationships.
  • Explore potential partner opportunities / strategic opportunities in this market.
  • Responsible for maintaining S&Ds for these products.
  • Negotiating and obtaining the best value for ADM`s into these markets.
  • Utilizing knowledge of Vegetable Oil flows and Global S&D`s in order to efficiently move those products into these market.
  • Utilizing experience in commodity markets, positioning, hedging/selling recommendations to customers.
  • Managing credit, legal issues and processing aspects of ADM’s oils/fats/low CI feedstock business.

The candidate
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • University degree, preferably with economic background.
  • 5-8 years commercial experience, preferably including trading and logistics in agricultural commodities.
  • Excellent understanding of pricing mechanisms as well as the relationship between worldwide supply and demand, and the pricing of agricultural commodities, specifically vegetable oils.
  • In depth knowledge of the freight spreads necessary to move feedstock products from origin to destination markets.
  • Previous experience of vegetable oil or biodiesel trading would be beneficial.
  • Analytical, creative, objective team player.
  • Strong ability to collaborate within a multi-cultural and cross-functional setting.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills.
